Bone Marrow Mononuclear Cells
Primary bone marrow mononuclear cells are a heterogeneous population that includes hematopoietic cells such as lymphocytes, monocytes, stem and progenitor cells, and mesenchymal stromal cells. Mononuclear cells are isolated from adult bone marrow using density gradient separation. Heparin is added to the bone marrow during collection as an anticoagulant.
