DOUBLE-SPUN PLASMA

Biomarker Plus provides the ability to obtain double-spin plasma (DSP) samples obtained with the new double-spun protocol, which consists of centrifugation of blood samples with two different spins, without opening the container.

The Double Spin Centrifuge applies radial force to stratify blood elements and concentrate platelets 6.7 times greater than whole blood. Blood is collected in the presence of an anticoagulant, which prevents the activation of platelets during the mechanical impact of centrifugation. The sample is centrifuged according to the manufacturer's recommendations, and the resulting supernatant is collected for re-spinning.
